Maturation of human pluripotent stem cells towards adult skeletal muscle and muscle stem cells
The developmental status of human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) derived skeletal muscle cells is not well defined. By using directed differentiation and RNA sequencing, we are identifying targets to mature HPSC derived muscle to fetal and adult satellite cells. We are also developing strategies to mature skeletal muscle progenitor cells (SMPCs) to satellite cells (SCs) with the ability to reside in the muscle SC niche in vivo.
